▶ HYBE New Girl Group Debut Project
HYBE New Girl Group (hybengg) / Plus Global New Girl Group (pgngg) is a collaboration group between Bighit Music (formerly Bighit Entertainment) and Source Music.
This will be their first girl group after GLAM in 2012 that is also a collaboration group between the two companies. PLUS girls are set to debut in the time frame second half of 2021 to first half of 2022.
HYBE new CEO Park Ji-won said from the latest second quarter 2021 report that the girls will be beginning their activities in the second half of 2021.
As previously reported by Bighit Entertainment founder and Chairman (also lyricist, composer, producer, and record executive), Bang Si-Hyuk, Bighit Music's production team, sensuous creative directing and branding of HYBE's Chief Brand Officer (CBO) Min Hee-jin (a former SM Entertainment creative director who was responsible for the concepts of Girls' Generation, f(x), and Red Velvet) and Source Music's own color and girl group know-how will be working together on the upcoming girl group.
Members were selected from 50,000 competitors through PLUS GLOBAL AUDITION that is held in 2019 across 16 cities around the world; Los Angeles, New York City, Perth, Singapore, Melbourne, Busan, Gwangju, Osaka, Sapporo, Taipei, Seoul, Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Hanoi, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City.
'PLUS' is an acronym of Playful, Lovely, Unique, and Sassy. The group is described as a blockbuster girl group full of unique charms and have strong skills and visuals; a girl group from diverse background and languages.
The members are currently working hard so please look forward to their debut!
